Statement

I use color, line, and texture to interpret and express feelings of pain, joy, sensuality, longing, loss, and celebration. I have painted all of my life. When I was a child I became aware of tremendous power and connection between emotion and imagination. In a stream of consciousness manner, I seek to artistically explore beyond the blurred lines that separate reality and the unbridled imagination. In my intense colorful pieces I try to impose a strong sense of equilibrium. Each work is intricately woven and complex. The physical nature of the paint and other media are used to represent the complex, positive, negative, rough, smooth, light, dark, harsh, delicate nature of our shared human and spiritual existence.
